Vladimir Ranković Barney, born in Niš in 1953, became interested in painting very early. At the end of the sixties, he was one of the founders of the amateur association of painters in the city of Nis. It was seven amateur painters led by Živojin Lekić. Vladimir Ranković is a participant in numerous exhibitions in the country and abroad /Olstrin Poland/. Along with painting, he worked on perfecting sound reproduction, and it can be said that it is his inspired him to perfect himself in painting. If it were necessary to determine to which artistic direction his paintings belong, the nearest destination would be "futurism". Relinquishing narrative and the third dimension, he tries to highlight lines, by intertwining forms and plans, realize the sensations of modern life and the future. By breaking the mold and by combining sharp and contrasting colors, the painter evokes reality and the future. In some pictures sends the message "the greens are coming", and immediately expresses the hope that they will not destroy civilization on earth. Colors painted with sound and sounds refined with color dominate the painting of Vladimir Ranković-Barney. Warm and cold colors, as well as transitions in his paintings are correlated with the harmony of high, mid and deep tones in the soundscape. And finally, what makes this painter special is his originality and lavish palette. Once in a word, Barney is special.

Vladimir Ranković Barney, rođen u Nišu 1953. godine, vrlo rano se počeo zanimati za slikarstvo. Krajem šezdesetih bio je jedan od osnivača amaterskog udruženja slikara u Nišu. Bilo je sedam slikara amatera predvođenih Živojinom Lekićem. Vladimir Ranković sudionik je brojnih izložbi u zemlji i inozemstvu /Olstrin Poljska/. Uz slikarstvo je radio na usavršavanju reprodukcije zvuka, a može se reći da je njegova nadahnuo ga da se usavršava u slikarstvu. Kad bi trebalo utvrditi kojem umjetničkom pravcu pripadaju njegove slike, najbliže odredište bio bi "futurizam". Odričući se naracije i treće dimenzije, pokušava istaknuti crte, ispreplitanjem oblika i planova ostvariti senzacije suvremenog života i budućnosti. Razbijanjem kalupa a kombinacijom oštrih i kontrastnih boja slikar dočarava stvarnost i budućnost. Na nekim slikama šalje poruku "zeleni dolaze", i odmah izražava nadu da neće uništiti civilizaciju na zemlji. Boje slikane zvukom i zvukovi oplemenjeni bojom dominiraju slikarstvom Vladimira Rankovića-Barneya. Tople i hladne boje, kao i prijelazi u njegovim slikama su u korelaciji sa harmonijom visokih, srednji i duboki tonovi u zvučnoj kulisi. I na kraju, ono što ovog slikara čini posebnim je njegova originalnost i raskošna paleta. Jednom jednom riječju Barney je poseban.
